Certification Program (450 Clock Hours)

Prerequisites: High School Diploma or equivalent, Basic experience in a Windows environment, and Basic computer skills and terminology.
Program Goals: Program completion from Training To YOU, Mastery of program material and Certification in CompTIA IT Professional (A+ Essentials Exam & A+ Practical Applications Exam) and Certification in either CompTIA Network + Exam or Microsoft Windows 7 Configuration Exam leading to Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist.


Program Overview:
The Computer Service Technician (CST) program is for students looking to take a leap into the Information Technology support field.  This program combines traditional classroom learning experiences, including lectures and hands on labs, remote learning and personal one-on-one coaching.  The curriculum is designed to practice and prepare for certification exams. Students will gain the skills for Information Technology jobs by learning how to build and maintain computers, installation of computer operating systems and software applications, and troubleshooting common computer problems.  The Computer Service Technician Diploma combines CompTIA certification of A+ and either Network+.  The A+ training teaches you how to install, repair, upgrade, configure, optimize, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on personal computers and operating systems.  The Network+ training program teaches students the skills necessary to manage, maintain, troubleshoot, install, operate and configure basic network infrastructure, describe networking technologies and basic design principles.  The Windows 7 course takes the student through the complete Windows 7 experience

Course:  CompTIA A+ Certification Course (205 Clock Hours)


Comp TIA A+ Essentials and Practical Applications are the newest course and examinations from Comp TIA for entry-level Information Technology professionals.  These courses are designed for students to obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to install, build, upgrade, repair, configure, troubleshoot, and performing preventative maintenance on desktop and laptop computer hardware and operating systems.  This hands-on content is designed to prepare students for the A+ Essentials and A+ Practical examination and includes exam practice materials.  This course is ideal for anyone who wishes to begin a career in information technology by becoming a personal computer service technician, or who wants to prepare to take the CompTIA A+ Essentials examination.

This content is designed to discuss in detail the A+ content, specific areas of concentration for the exam preparation and provide hands on training through lab work designed to provide practical application of concepts.  The lab series along with the lecture series will be additional support to ensure exam preparation.


Course: CompTIA A+ Certification Course (95 Clock Hours)


CompTIA A+ Certification has been established as the standard credential for anyone beginning an information technology career. In this CompTIA A+ certification prep course, you’ll delve into the inner workings of the personal computer with Mike Meyers; the IT industry’s leading CompTIA A+ authority. Meyers shows you how hardware components and operating systems work together for optimum functionality. This is the course to give you the knowledge and confidence to work in a real world environment and prepare to pass the CompTIA A+ Certification exam.
This content is designed to discuss in detail the A+ content, specific areas of concentration for the exam preparation and provide hands on training through lab work designed to provide practical application of concepts.  The lab series along with the lecture series will be additional support to ensure exam preparation.

Course: CompTIA Network + Certification (150 Hours)


This course is designed to provide network technicians and support staff with the foundation-level skills they need to install, operate, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot a corporate network. This course will help prepare students for the CompTIA Network+ 2009 certification exam.  Note: a course alone cannot prepare students for a CompTIA exam.

Course: Microsoft MCTS Windows 7 Configuration Coursse (150 Clock Hours)


In this course, the student will learn what is new in Microsoft’s latest operating system: Windows 7.  In addition to becoming proficient with Windows 7 productivity tools, the student will also be prepared to take exam 70-680, MCTS: Windows 7 Configuration Certification. This course will take you through the complete Windows 7 experience and give you the tools to configure and deploy Windows 7 as your own computing environment as well as a walkthrough of Windows 7 installation, upgrades, migration and deployment approach.  There is also defined instruction on VPN’s, encryption, file management and automated backup configurations as it relates to Windows 7.
