Prerequisites: High School Diploma or equivalent, prior network Administrator experience or Comp TIA A+ Certification.

Program Overview:
The Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) program is for students looking to take their first step into Microsoft’s latest operating system: Windows 7 and the Windows Server 2008 environment. This program combines traditional classroom learning experiences, including lectures and hands on labs and remote learning to prepare students for certification exams. Students will gain the skills for Information Technology jobs by learning what is new in Windows 7 and how to become proficient with the Window 7 productivity tools. This course will prepare the student to take Exam#70-680 MCTS: Windows 7 Configuration Certification.
In addition, students will learn how to configure and troubleshoot a Windows Server 2008 and 2008r2 Network. This program consists of Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Configuration Course to prepare the student for the Microsoft Certification Exam #70-640 as well as the Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration Exam #70-642. The Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Configuration Course will take you through the implementation, maintenance and management of an Active Directory. The Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration Course will take the student through the network configurations needed for services in a Windows Server 2008 Enterprise.

Course: Microsoft MCTS Windows 7 Configuration (125 Clock Hours)
In this course, students will learn what is new in Microsoft’s latest operating system: Windows 7. In addition to becoming proficient with Windows 7 productivity tools, the student will also be prepared to take exam 70-680, MCTS: Windows 7 Configuration Certification. This course will take you through the complete Windows 7 experience and give you the tools to configure and deploy Windows 7 as your own computing environment.
Course: Microsoft MCTS Windows 7 Configuration 70-680 Exam Prep (25 Clock Hours)
This content will prepare the student for Microsoft’s 70-680 exam: Windows 7, Configuration. In this content, practice exams and samples similar to the certification exam will be provided. There will be a complete and detailed walkthrough of Windows 7 installation, upgrades, migration and deployment approach. There is also defined instruction on VPN’s, encryption, file management and automated backup configurations as it relates to Windows 7.
Course: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration (125 Clock Hours)
This course will take you through the network configurations needed for services in a Windows Server 2008 Enterprise. Work with DHCP, IPv6 and other critical services for communication. Watch Tom Carpenter and learn how to create secure environments using the built-in tools IPSec, and routing options. See how to work with DNS zones and authentication methods for both enterprise and remote access. Set up access through Network translation and firewalls. Work with Windows 2008 systems to maintain healthy and secure servers. This course covers the topics for the 70-642 Exam.
Course: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration Exam Prep (25 Clock Hours)
This section will cover the topics necessary to complete the Microsoft 70-642 exam along with providing preparation materials to study for the exam. In addition, the students will receive a MeasureUp exam prep tool to view areas of focus and to provide an environment that simulates the real exam.
Course: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Configuration Course (125 Clock Hours)
Working with DNS, Configuring Zones, and setting up Domains is only the tip of the iceberg with this course featuring Aaron Spurlock. Learn to work with roles, transferring roles and creating migration strategies and implementations. Work with AD groups, and trust settings. Understand the purpose and implementation of read only domain controllers. Learn about using CA in Server 2008 and the newest features and rights management built into the Windows 2008 Server. This course will take you through the implementation, maintenance and management of your Active Directory.

This section will cover the topics necessary to complete the Microsoft 70-640 exam along with the providing preparation materials to study for the exam.
